I’m echoing all these other great ladies and gents, wishing to be younger and more mobile. If you have any need of Proofreader, I can do that with pleasure. So glad you’re back to comment on these wild and crazy times. Missed you
I am so thrilled you are returning to writing for The NY Times.I have always counted on your columns. We’re I a bit younger .I would try to work for and with you. But at last there will be the marvelous columns at a very critical time in our country. Thanks so much.
Wonderful piece by former assistant. I love creative writing, but not goofy and weird, just truthful, blunt and comparative. She made me chuckle, like you do! Thank you for allowing your readers/supporters into your personal world. I think you are awesome😎
Just in case you can use help when you hop down to Sacramento for some story you can use my two bedroom house near CSUS as a base and I'll stay at my almost 100 year old Mom's house nearby. And just in case you can use a researcher to volunteer online and not in New York or Oregon I'd be honored to volunteer to help you. I've written four health-related books published by major publishers and hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles back in the day when I was a working journalist and admire you and Sheryl enormously for your courage and values... and talent making overwhelming concepts understandable to the ordinary reader. Ah. If only It were 50+ years ago that you require an assistant. In any case, welcome back. You have been missed
Me too. Only 90. but if you need help on Nigeria, I was there 1954-1977.
Sixty years ago, I would have jumped. Best of luck. Ann King

good luck with your searching. We have met couple decades ago in Taipei when I served in Taiwan's legislature. Before that I was a journalist too.

If there were ever a post to make me mourn my lost youth, this one would be it. May you find a perfect match.

Any chance this role can be based in Oregon? I live in McMinnville, which would be super convenient for linking up
No, I'm afraid it'll be in New York. The assistant will also work with Lydia Polgreen and with many editors who are in New York. Sorry!
